KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: The General Traffic Department announced on Sunday the opening of several new traffic routes on the Fifth Ring Road after completing scheduled maintenance work, with the changes taking effect on Dec 1.
In a press statement, the department confirmed that the service road connecting the Surra area to the Fifth Ring Road has reopened in both directions toward Qurtuba and Jahra.
It added that the vertical U-turn from Damascus Street in the Al-Salam area leading to the Fifth Ring Road toward Jahra is now operational, along with the main overpass on Damascus Street above the Fifth Ring Road between Surra and Qurtuba.
The statement also noted the reopening of the right-turn for motorists coming from Salmiya on the Fifth Ring Road toward Damascus Street in Surra, as well as the right-turn from Damascus Street in the Qurtuba area onto the Fifth Ring Road heading toward Jahra.
