KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23: The Ministry of Interior announced in a press statement that newly approved regulations (published in the Official Gazette Kuwait Alyoum on Sunday and scheduled to take effect one month from now) include a complete restructuring of all categories of entry visas. These categories cover family, medical, business, and tourist visit visas, as well as work-entry visas for both the government and private sectors, visas for domestic workers, and student visas.

The Ministry added that updated fine schedules for overstaying visit visas have been approved, with penalties varying according to the type of visa. Significant revisions have also been introduced to residency categories, including investor residency, residency for freelancers and private business owners, and residency for specialized professional groups. The updates further include regulations governing the residency of domestic workers, the number of domestic workers permitted per family, conditions for family-dependent residency, and the categories eligible for such sponsorship.

The Ministry of Interior urged citizens and residents to closely follow upcoming announcements, which will include detailed awareness materials explaining the rules and requirements for each type of visit and residency permit. This, it stressed, is essential to ensure transparency and support full compliance with the law.
