KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25, (Agencies): In a significant move to regulate vehicle modifications, the Minister of Trade and Industry and Minister of State for Youth Affairs have issued Ministerial Resolution No. (171) of 2023. The resolution addresses the fundamental changes to vehicles and introduces a new provision to the executive regulations of Law No. (117) of 2013.

Minister of Trade and Industry takes decisive action on Vehicle Modifications

The amendment, outlined in Article One of the resolution, specifically adds a paragraph to Article (16), and Paragraph (5) of the aforementioned law's executive regulations. The added provision explicitly states that license holders, shops, and companies are prohibited from making any fundamental changes to vehicles. This includes alterations related to the vehicle's year of manufacture or its physical shape.

Crucially, the resolution mandates that prior permission must be obtained from the General Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior before undertaking any substantial modifications to vehicles. This regulatory measure aims to ensure that all changes adhere to established guidelines and contribute to maintaining safety and compliance within the realm of vehicular modifications.
