KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: The Ministry of Interior has warned owners of properties under construction, chalets, livestock pens (jakhours) and farms against employing or accommodating individuals as guards without verifying their legal residency and employment status. In an advisory, the Ministry stressed that anyone hired to work as a guard must have a valid legal residency status and be sponsored by the property owner or the company responsible for the construction work, in accordance with Kuwait's laws and regulations.
The Ministry also urged property owners to verify that prospective guards are not subject to absconding reports, court judgments or security restrictions before employing them. It warned that violations of residency and employment regulations could expose those responsible to legal accountability. Reiterating its warning, the Ministry called on property owners to strictly comply with residency and labour laws and refrain from employing or accommodating anyone in violation of the law, stressing that such compliance is essential to maintaining public security and safety.
