KUWAIT CITY, Sept 27: In a decisive move to curb reckless driving and promote road safety, Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior carried out a targeted field traffic campaign on Friday, September 26, across key highways and bridges in the northern region of the country.

The operation was led by the General Traffic and Operations Sector, represented by the Jahra Governorate Traffic Department, and was supported by the Deterrent Patrol Force, Traffic Investigation units, and Security Surveillance teams.

The coordinated campaign was deployed on Subiya Road toward Boubyan Island, Sheikh Jaber Bridge, and the Doha Link, focusing on violations involving reckless behavior, road rudeness, and illegal gatherings.

Authorities reported significant enforcement outcomes:

  • 114 direct traffic violations were recorded
  • 22 vehicles were impounded
  • 6 motorcycles were seized
  • 7 individuals were referred to the Traffic Detention Center

The Ministry emphasized that such high-intensity campaigns will continue regularly across the country’s roads and strategic locations. It reaffirmed its commitment to curbing negative driving behaviors and enhancing overall public safety on Kuwait’s roads.

The Ministry also reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on any violations that could jeopardize lives or damage property, warning that all offenders will face firm legal action.
