Kuwait’s Kabad Crackdown: 21 Held, Guns Seized, Illegal Structures Razed

KUWAIT CITY, May 3: The Ministry of Interior continued its intensive security campaigns throughout the country. The recent security campaign, in collaboration with Kuwait Municipality, led to the arrest of 21 individuals proven to have violated the Residency and Labor laws; confiscation of six firearms and 100 rounds of ammunition; and demolition of illegal structures on State-owned land in Kabad. The ministry explained that these efforts are part of the strategic initiatives to uphold legal mandates, strengthen security measures and maintain public order.

The Public Security Sector under the Jahra Governorate Security Directorate, in coordination with the Municipality, carried out a large-scale security campaign in Kabad as per the directive of Director General of Jahra Governorate Security Directorate Brigadier General Ziad Al-Khatib, targeting unauthorized and non-compliant storage facilities. This campaign resulted in the detention of 21 individuals who violated the Residency and Labor laws. These individuals were referred to the concerned judicial bodies for legal action. Six firearms, 100 rounds of ammunition and alcoholic beverages were also confiscated during the campaign. Meanwhile, the Municipality teams demolished several illegal vendor stalls and encroachments on State properties. The Ministry of Interior has reaffirmed its commitment to continue such joint security initiatives to combat all forms of violations and maintain national security and stability.
