Kuwait’s hearing-impaired futsal team gear up for debut World Cup

KUWAIT CITY Nov 1: The Kuwaiti hearing-impaired futsal team are currently in Spain preparing for their debut in the first-ever World Futsal Cup, which will take place in Brazil on November 10.

The team, consisting of 14 members, are undergoing an eight-day training camp in Granada, Southern Spain.
According to Salem Aman, the team’s coach, the training camp is an essential opportunity for the Kuwaiti team to gain valuable experience by playing two matches against the Spanish team. This experience will be invaluable as they prepare for their first-ever participation in the World Cup.

Spain was chosen as the location for the training camp due to its high ranking in the sport and the availability of top-notch facilities, making it an ideal place to hone their skills before heading to Sao Paulo, Brazil, where the tournament will be held from November 10 to 19. In Brazil, the Kuwait National Team will be placed in a group alongside Denmark, Switzerland, and Britain.
Salem Aman expressed the team’s readiness to represent Kuwait on the international stage and are determined to make their country proud.

The Kuwaiti delegation includes Anwar Al-Harbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwaiti Sports Club for the Deaf, Hussein Bu Hamad, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Khalaf Al-Shammari as the Treasurer, Falah Dabsha as the team manager, Mahdi Dashti as the sign language interpreter, and the talented players of the Kuwaiti Deaf National Team.
