Kuwaiti is challenged by two Qataris during Asian Games handball match between Kuwait and Qatar.

HANGZHOU, China, Oct 3,:The Kuwaiti handball team delivered a heroic performance in the semi-final match of the 19th Asian Games against the Qatari team, despite a 24-29 defeat.

Kuwait will now compete for the bronze medal, facing the Japanese team at eleven o'clock tomorrow morning, Thursday.

The Japanese team lost their semi-final match to Bahrain with a score of 28-30.

The experience of the Qatari national team players played a significant role against the ambition of Al-Azraq, which includes many young players participating for the first time in this continental tournament.

Yousef Najm, a player from our national handball team, stated that the Kuwaiti team had spared no effort in their match, leading for most of the game. However, due to some technical errors and the inexperience of the young players, victory was ultimately granted to the Qatari national team.

He emphasized the team's determination to secure the bronze medal and revive some of the historical achievements of the handball team in the Asian Games.

In other events, the journey of Abdullah Al-Muzain, a player from our national squash team, in the individual competition came to a halt in the quarter-finals after losing to his Malaysian opponent, En Yao, with a score of 0-3. Meanwhile, our national athletics team player, Amal Al-Roumi, concluded her participation in the 800m race qualifiers, finishing in fourth place with a time of 2:13.20 minutes. Ibrahim Al-Dhafiri secured seventh place in the 800m race, with a time of 1:49.05 minutes.

Cyclist Latifa Al-Yassin participated in an individual time trial, finishing 14th with a time of 2:13.20. Nasser Bourjib, a competitor in speed climbing, ranked 23rd and is set to participate in "guided climbing" on Thursday.

Today's competitions feature equestrian events with riders Ali Al-Kharafi, Abdulrahman Al-Fuzaie, Abdullah Al-Awadhi, and Anaz Al-Anaz participating in show jumping. Cyclists Latifa Al-Yassin and Taiba Al-Asfoor aim for a satisfactory outcome in the women's individual road race, starting at five in the morning. Additionally, Abdul Rahman Al-Azmi from our national athletics team looks forward to competing in the javelin throwing competition at two o'clock in the afternoon.

Jiu-jitsu training commenced in the city of Hangzhou in preparation for the players' participation in the tournament. The jiu-jitsu team includes Nasser Abdul Karim, Yousef Al-Dosari,

Muhammad Ali, Fahd Al-Marri, and Ali Hassan, who will compete in their respective weight classes starting tomorrow.

The Kuwaiti sports delegation, led by the delegation's director, Fatima Hayat, celebrated the triumph of Yaqoub Al-Youha after his historic gold medal win in the 110-meter hurdles race at the 19th Asian Games. Members of the Kuwaiti delegation warmly welcomed Al-Youha upon his return to the village headquarters following the conclusion of the race competitions.

Bashar Abdullah, Deputy Director of the Public Authority for Sports, visited the headquarters of the Kuwaiti Sports Mission in the Athletes' Village. He encouraged the delegation to continue their dedication and effort in advancing Kuwait's presence in sports.

Fatima Hayat, the mission's director, received Bashar and provided an overview of the progress and measures taken by the Kuwaiti administrative delegation, acknowledging the efforts to support the players and the technical and administrative staff. At the end of his visit, he wished the Kuwaiti athletes success and more achievements in the tournament.

Meshal Al-Shamali, the Consul General of Kuwait in the Chinese city of Shanghai, also visited the Kuwaiti mission's headquarters in the Sports Village. During his visit, he praised the collective efforts and performance levels displayed by the Kuwaiti athletes in various sports, expressing his appreciation for everyone's contributions.
