KUWAIT CITY, Jan 19: Kuwait’s pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, titled “Visionary Lighthouse,” won the Silver Award at BrandEx 2026 for Architecture in the Best Thematic Exhibition category, a top official said Monday.

Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services at the Ministry of Information, Salem Al-Watyan, described the award as a global achievement reflecting Kuwait’s strategic approach to cultural and media participation on the international stage.

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Watyan said the recognition demonstrates the support of Kuwait’s political leadership and the Ministry of Information’s strategy to strengthen high-quality international participation, deepen Kuwait’s cultural and media presence at major events, and promote the country’s positive image abroad.

“This award confirms the effectiveness of highlighting national identity through creative, modern, and interactive experiences,” he said, noting that it also reinforces the role of soft power in cultural and media diplomacy.

Al-Watyan credited the achievement to the guidance of Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, who emphasizes that international participation should serve as a strategic platform showcasing Kuwait’s humanitarian values and cultural heritage while keeping pace with global trends in communication.

He added that the pavilion was designed to strengthen international partnerships, highlight Kuwait’s vision for culture, education, and sustainability, and serve as a model for leveraging culture and media to advance national objectives.

Al-Watyan confirmed that the ministry will continue supporting well-planned international participation to strengthen Kuwait’s position on the global cultural and media map.
