Embassy marks 93rd birthday of Queen Elizabeth II

KUWAIT CITY, April 18, (KUNA): Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah hailed on Wednesday the strong friendship with the United Kingdom, recalling Britain’s role in Kuwait liberation war.

In statements to reporters on the sidelines of the function held by the UK Embassy in Kuwait to celebrate the 93rd birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, Al-Jarallah said Kuwait is looking forward to expanding cooperation with the UK in all domains. He lauded the outcome and mechanism of the UK-Kuwait steering committee meetings.

For his part, British Ambassador to Kuwait Michael Davenport congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the well-deserved extraordinary honoring from the World Bank in recognition of his role in promoting peace and economic and social development worldwide. Davenport stated that His Highness had an ambition vision for Kuwait, wishing that the depth of the joint partnership would pave the way for the UK participation in the efforts to turn this vision into reality. He pointed out that this year marked the 120th anniversary for the UK-Kuwaiti friendship agreement.
