KUWAIT CITY, Mar 22: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the State of Kuwait has submitted an official letter of protest to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in response to serious violations and aggressions by Iran targeting Kuwait’s airspace and facilities at Kuwait International Airport.
The authority stated that these actions constitute flagrant breaches of international aviation agreements and have exposed passengers, airlines, airport staff, and airport infrastructure to serious risks. The incidents also caused disruptions in air navigation, requiring the suspension of all flights, resulting in significant material losses and human injuries.
The protest letter detailed the violations and their repercussions on the safety and security of civil aviation, emphasizing the importance of ICAO taking measures to protect Kuwaiti airspace and airport facilities and prevent recurrence of such incidents.
The Directorate underscored that the State of Kuwait retains all legal rights to take necessary measures to safeguard its security and facilities. The authority’s communication stresses Kuwait’s commitment to maintaining international aviation safety standards while defending its sovereignty.
