KUWAIT CITY, July 11, (KUNA): Kuwait Livestock Transport and Trading Company is fully prepared to serve livestock sacrifices during the upcoming Eid Al- Adha at the capital slaughter house and the new cattle market, said the company CEO Usama Boodai. The slaughter house and the market have the capacity to slaughter 900 sheep per hour, said Boodai in an interview with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Sunday.

The company has sufficient livestock stockpiles, he said, noting that preparations for Eid Al-Adha began at the end of the past fasting month of Ramadan. An Australian sheep costs KD 67 (USD 222), Boodai said, affirming that prices of the sacrificial lambs have slightly increase due to the coronavirus, higher transport cost and seasonal rate hike. Customers can practice the ritual via Al-Mawashi e.application, he said, noting that he (or she) would receive a text confirmation about actual slaughter of the cattle, as of Al-Eid’s first day.

The customers can use the e-mail: meta.e.gv.kw or buy coupons for Austrian sheep from Al-Asima Slaughter House or the New Cattle Market, whereby they will take delivery of the slaughtered cattle after Eid prayers at the distribution location specified for the Australian species. The share-holding company, established in 1973, has a fl eet of cattle transport vessels. Meanwhile, the Mutla’a Residential City in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Water will soon hand over to the receiving committee 6 projects comprising approximately 22 power stations of different voltage capacity, reports Al-Jarida daily. The value of the aforementioned projects is approximately 122 million dinars. The projects are implemented by three companies — a local company, a company from a GCC state and an Indian company. The completion rate of the projects is believed to be between 90 and 95 percent. By Mohammad Al-Mutairi
