KUWAIT CITY, June 10: Kuwaiti youth artistic gymnastics team member Abdullah Behbehani achieved significant results at the Salmanov International Championship, which concluded in Slovenia. Behbehani secured two medals: one gold and one bronze, along with a fourth-place finish in the overall individual competition.

Muhammad Al-Daihani, head of the Kuwaiti team delegation and a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors, highlighted Behbehani’s achievements. The tournament, which began last week, featured strong competition from 22 players representing seven advanced countries in gymnastics: Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, and Sierra Leone.

Al-Daihani detailed Behbehani’s success, mentioning his gold medal in the vault competition and bronze in the horizontal bar competition, noting that Behbehani "made a strong impression in this tournament, which is recognized by the International Federation of Gymnastics."

He praised Behbehani’s dedication and continual improvement, attributing part of this success to the significant efforts of the Ukrainian national team's coach, Vitaly Arsenyev, in enhancing the athletes' skills.

Additionally, Al-Daihani commended the support from the General Sports Authority and the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee for their backing of the team in all international competitions.

He also acknowledged the “positive participation and good performance” of players Musa Al-Sahhaf, Saud Al-Rudaini, Hussein Dashti, and Saud Al-Sanawi. Special mention was given to Fatima Al-Nama from the girls' artistic gymnastics team, who competed strongly against 46 players, presenting a positive image of girls’ artistic gymnastics. This was her first participation in an international tournament at this level.
