Kuwait’s Al-Zankawi claims second gold at GCC games

KUWAIT CITY, May 17: After he got his first in the discus throwing competition, Kuwait Athletics Team player Issa Al-Zankawi won on Tuesday the second gold medal for Kuwait on the second day of GCC Games. The Kuwaiti champion won this race after throwing the disc at a distance of 60.20 meters, ahead of Qatar’s Moath Mohammad, who came second with the silver medal with a distance of (58.87 meters), while the Omani player Osama Al-Aqili won the bronze medal after coming third with a distance of (51.97 meters). In this regard, Al-Zankawi expressed in a statement to KUNA that he was very happy with his achievement, especially as it came during a period in which he suffered multiple injuries that greatly affected his results last season.
