Kuwait’s Al-Qenaei and Al-Sarraj reach the round of 16 at the Asian Games

NAGOYA, Sept. 28: Kuwait’s national shooting team maintained its strong showing at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, posting impressive results on the second day of the individual and team trap competitions.

The Kuwait trio of Khaled Al-Mudhaf, Talal Al-Rashidi, and Abdulrahman Al-Feihan leads the team trap standings with 287 hits.

The competition resumes today at 4 am with a crucial final round featuring 25 more targets, taking the total to 125. The results will determine the shooters who advance to the medal round.

Meanwhile, Kuwait’s women’s padel duo Dalal Al-Qenaei and Maryam Al-Sarraj secured a place in the women’s doubles round of 16, adding another achievement to Kuwait’s campaign.

In athletics, Bader Suwaid ended his Asian Games campaign after finishing 11th in the 1,500m.

Padel action continues today, with Noor Hassan and Zainab Sarkhous competing in the first round of the women’s doubles. Al-Qenaei and Al-Sarraj will play their round-of-16 match at 4 am, followed by the men’s doubles second-round match involving Abdulrahman Al-Awadhi and Hussein Shams.

Kuwaiti sailor Amina Shah will resume her qualification campaign at 8 am, while Kuwait’s men’s team faces the Philippines in the qualification round at the same time.

Athlete Ibrahim Al-Dhafiri will also be in action, competing in the 800m final at 2:05 pm.
