SHARJAH, Feb 11 (KUNA): Kuwait’s Al-Fatat Club capped off a successful campaign at the 8th Arab Women’s Clubs Games in Sharjah, UAE, securing medals across multiple sports.
The club’s women’s basketball team earned the bronze medal after defeating Iraq’s Ghaz Al-Shammal 101-74 in the third-place playoff, demonstrating consistent performance throughout the tournament.
In table tennis, Kuwaiti duo Maryam Baron and Menwah Al-Shammari claimed silver in the women’s doubles, while the club also secured another silver in the women’s team event, underscoring the players’ skill and teamwork against tough competition from Arab clubs.
Adding to the medal tally, taekwondo athlete Fatmah Al-Jeemaz captured bronze in the +73 kg category, showcasing her determination and strong performance against regional competitors.
The Games, which conclude tomorrow, Thursday, aimed to promote Arab women’s sports and facilitate experience exchange among participating teams. Al-Fatat’s achievements highlight the club’s dedication to nurturing talent and advancing women’s sports in Kuwait.
