Kuwait's Al-Fahad makes weightlifting history with gold

ATHENS, Greece, Sept. 26: Kuwait’s Abrar Al-Fahad has made history by winning the gold medal at the World Masters Weightlifting Championships in Athens, Greece.

Representing Al-Nasr Sports Club and the Kuwait national team, Al-Fahad dominated the snatch and clean and jerk events to finish first in the overall standings and claim the world title.

The victory makes Al-Fahad the first Kuwaiti female weightlifter to win gold at the World Masters Championships, marking a landmark achievement for Kuwaiti weightlifting.

Her success highlights the growing presence of Kuwaiti women in international sport and adds another major achievement to the country’s weightlifting record.
