KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: The decision taken by the Higher Ministerial Committee, which is in charge of following up on the repercussions of the COVID 19 crisis, to impose immediate fines against those who do not wear a mask in public was met with great rejection by the citizens, reports Al-Anba daily.

They expressed their fear about the value of the fine specified in law No. 83/2020 regarding the obligation to wear protective masks.

This law  stipulates that the penalty will be imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months and/or a fine not exceeding KD 5,000.

The citizens demanded that this decision must be reviewed and either canceled or replaced with a fine ranging between KD 50 and 100.

They said, “If you want your orders to be met, ensure that the orders given are possible and practical”.
