KUWAIT CITY, May 7: The Ministry of Social Affairs signed a contract recently for the design, construction, and maintenance of six wedding halls. The signing ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Chairman of the National Cooperative Projects Committee, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, the acting Assistant Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs and Cooperative Affairs, Dr. Sayed Issa, as well as representatives from the engineering consultancy firm.

The Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Amthal Al- Huwaila stated in a press release that the project reflects the State’s commitment to completing the infrastructure of new residential areas to enhance the quality of life, and meet citizens’ needs and aspirations. She pointed out that the tender process was conducted in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and within the approved legal frameworks, ensuring procedural integrity, fair competition, and the selection of the best technical proposals capable of achieving quality, efficiency, and timely completion. Dr. Al-Huwaila emphasized that the designs will adhere to the latest engineering standards, the building code, and humanitarian requirements, ensuring that the facilities are fully accessible to persons with disabilities.

Meanwhile, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi stated that the project represents an important pillar in the development of community services. He stressed that it was awarded through a public tender characterized by integrity, transparency, and compliance with all technical and administrative requirements. Al-Ajmi affirmed that the ministry is proceeding with its development projects according to a clear vision based on quality of execution and efficient implementation. He emphasized that the wedding hall project represents a model of projects that reflect the State’s commitment to strengthening the social fabric, in line with the directives of the political leadership and Cabinet instructions in this regard. Al-Ajmi revealed that the six halls are distributed as follows - one hall in Sabah Al-Ahmad, one in West Abdullah Al-Mubarak, one in South Abdullah Al-Mubarak, one in Jaber Al-Ahmad, and two in Al-Mutlaa.
