KUWAIT CITY, Sept 21: The Spanish Ambassador to Kuwait HE Miguel Aguilar, announced that the consular division at the Spanish Embassy has issued approximately 24,000 visas from the start of 2023 to mid-September, reports Al-Rai daily.

He highlighted that over 300 Kuwaitis applied for the visa after the approval of the "Cascade" system for Kuwaitis, benefiting from the "Schengen" visa allowing multiple travels.

The Spanish envoy clarified to avail the advantage of a 5-year visa, the passport must have a validity of more than 5 years, and the applicant must be a resident of Kuwait.

On the other hand, diplomatic sources affirmed that one of the prerequisites for obtaining a five-year Schengen visa, a long-term option now accessible to Kuwaitis, is to apply through the embassies of Schengen countries in Kuwait. They noted that Kuwaitis residing outside Kuwait do not meet the criteria for this system.
