KUWAIT CITY, April 6: The Assistant Undersecretary for the Cooperatives Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Hiyam Al-Khudair has asked the Cooperative Control and Inspection Department a statement on complaints filed by the citizens who say they have not received the purchase vouchers, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily said the sector’s management had announced vouchers which are worth 50 dinars for one time only on payment of 100 fils only for family card holders.

An official source said that the ministry had received a number of complaints from citizens, owners of family cards, that one of the coops in the Jahra Governorate had not given them the vouchers. He stated the complaints filed by citizens raise several question marks about how and why the vouchers are not available. He added, the vouchers are distributed after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

The ministry has asked the financial controller in the society to disclose the names of those who received the coupons to investigate the complaints received and the end of the distribution, which lasted for three days without all shareholders getting the coupons due to the chaos as seen on video clips on social media.
