ABU DHABI, Nov 16 (KUNA): Kuwaiti racers Fahad Al-Yaqoub and Yousef Al-Shareeda achieved a major milestone at the UAE International Jet Ski Championship, claiming first and second places respectively in the Spark GP4 sitting category.
The championship also saw the triumphant return of world champion Yousef Al-Abdulrazzaq, who secured second place in the GP1 sitting category for professional riders after missing an entire season due to injury.
Al-Yaqoub and Al-Shareeda excelled amid fierce competition in Abu Dhabi, with Al-Yaqoub’s consistent performance putting him in the lead of the overall 2025 points standings, further establishing Kuwait’s presence in the sport.
Ibrahim Ramadan, Director of the Marine Sports Club's Motors Committee, told KUNA that the top-two finish in the Spark GP4 category highlights the outstanding performances of Kuwaiti racers throughout the season. He noted that the category featured six competitors from Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE, with Al-Yaqoub and Al-Shareeda asserting their dominance to claim the podium positions.
Ramadan also praised Al-Abdulrazzaq’s successful comeback, saying his runner-up finish in the GP1 professional category demonstrates his skill and competitiveness despite a season-long absence.
The 2025 UAE International Jet Ski Championship, which began in January, concluded this November with its final round from November 14–16, featuring elite riders from across the region.
Ramadan affirmed that the Marine Sports Club will continue supporting athletes and providing the environment necessary for success in regional and international competitions, commending the commitment and discipline of Kuwaiti racers.
