Kuwaitis and Expats Urged to Activate Digital Signature for Government and Banking Services

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: The Ministry of Justice and the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) have urged Kuwaitis and expats to activate their approved digital signature to access a wide range of government and banking services more easily and securely.

In a joint statement issued on Monday, the two authorities said the initiative is part of ongoing cooperation between government entities to simplify procedures and improve digital services for individuals.

The authorities explained that the digital signature enables users to approve transactions and documents digitally through their devices without the need for paper signatures or personal attendance. The service carries legal validity in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The statement highlighted that the digital signature will support several digital services, including upcoming digital services from the Ministry of Justice, such as online notarization and the issuance and cancellation of powers of attorney.

It will also allow users to complete various transactions, including the establishment of companies and institutions, commercial licensing procedures with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and certain banking transactions and contracts remotely.

Kuwaitis can activate their digital signature through the “My Kuwait ID” application or self-service machines, while expats can complete activation through designated self-service devices available at several locations across Kuwait.

The Ministry of Justice and PACI encouraged everyone to activate the digital signature in advance to benefit from current and future digital government and banking services with greater convenience and security.
