KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: The total amount spent by citizens and expatriates who traveled overseas during the national holidays in five days is estimated to be KD 115 million, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting sources from the travel and tourism sector.
They explained that the expense including tickets, transportation, accommodation, shopping, and entertainment is nearly KD 75 per day during these short holidays.
However, the daily average expense per individual has been reduced by the fact that some Kuwaitis possess houses in the country they travel to and thus save the cost of staying in hotels. Otherwise the average expense would reach up to KD 150 per day. The same applies to expatriates as many choose to spend their holidays in their own countries, while some travel to other countries.
