LONDON, Nov 8 (KUNA): The fifth edition of the Kuwaiti youth initiative “Your Health Abroad” held its first marathon at Battersea Park, London.
The 5-kilometer marathon, supported by the Public Authority for Sport (PAS), ran from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm and attracted numerous Kuwaiti male and female students studying in the United Kingdom.
Noura and Nouf Al-Duaij and Ruqaiya Al-Hajras led the female participants, while Hassan Abdullah, Abdulrahman Sulaiman, and Faisal Al-Hajraf topped the male racers, according to PAS Deputy Director General Haya Al-Dahham.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Dahham emphasized PAS’s dedication to supporting Kuwaiti students abroad and promoting public awareness of the importance of sports. “The success of the fifth edition of the youth event, both inside and outside Kuwait, encourages us to continue organizing it in the future,” she said.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Metwa’, media sponsor of the event, added that the marathon brought together expatriate students and workers from Gulf countries, who expressed their joy in participating.
Earlier editions of the youth initiative were held in a woodland area near Leeds.
