KUWAIT CITY, July 4: The Court of Cassation sentenced a citizen working in the Ministry of Health to seven years in prison with hard labor for the forgery of his academic certificates, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The Public Prosecution charged the defendant with forging his high school diploma, which was supposedly issued by an educational institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to an academic certificate stating he completed a bachelor’s degree at an Egyptian university.

Based on these academic certificates, the defendant was employed at the ministry, which is considered embezzlement of public money. Case files indicate that the defendant forged official documents with the intent of using them to gain employment. The forgery was discovered after the concerned staff at the Private Education Department in the Ministry of Education checked the authenticity of the academic certificates submitted by the defendant.
