Kuwaiti women urged to update housing request

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 9: The Women’s Housing Affairs Committee at the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) announced the activation of an online service for updating rental housing applications through the Sahel app, in accordance with the Cabinet’s directives on digital transformation.

The committee explained that Kuwaiti women registered with PAHW who have an existing rental housing application will receive a notification through the Sahel app. The notification will include a link to access the application update service and upload the required documents.

The committee urged all those who receive the notification to promptly update their information and upload the required documents within 90 days of the announcement date, adding that applications that are not updated within the specified period will be canceled, effective October 16, 2026. The required documents for the update include:
■ A copy of the applicant’s civil ID card.
■ A copy of the nationality certificate.
■ A copy of the marriage certificate for married women, divorce certificate for divorced women, or husband’s death certificate for widows.
■ School certificates for children covering the last two academic years.
■ A certificate from the General Ports Department showing travel history for 2024, 2025, and 2026.
■ A certificate from the Real Estate Registration Department confirming that neither the applicant nor her spouse owns any real estate.
■ A certificate from the Commercial Registry Department.
■ A recent certificate from the Public Authority for Disability Affairs (PADA), if a family member has a severe or moderate disability.
■ A salary certificate. If the applicant is unemployed, a certificate from PAHW is required.
