Kuwaiti women prefer Kuwaiti men over foreign husbands

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Official statistics issued by the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) revealed that the number of Kuwaiti women married to Kuwaiti citizens reached 229,885 as of the end of June 2025, while 19,724 Kuwaiti women were married to nationals of other countries in various continents. The statistics indicated that Kuwaiti women’s marriages to non-Kuwaitis were distributed among Arab, Asian, European, American, African, and Australian nationalities, with marriages to Arab nationals remaining the highest among these categories.

The figures below indicate that marriages outside the local community remain limited compared to marriages to Kuwaiti citizens.

Kuwaitis: 229,885
Non-Kuwaitis: 19,724
Arabs: 18,186
Asians (non-Arabs): 698
North America: 418
Europe: 270
South America: 64
Africa: 50
Australia: 38

Marriages to Arab nationalities ranked second with 18,186, while marriages to non-Arab Asian nationalities ranked third with 698. Marriages to North Americans ranked fourth with 418, Europe ranked fifth with 270, and marriages to South Americans ranked sixth with 64. Meanwhile, 50 Kuwaiti women married Africans, ranking eighth. Finally, 38 Kuwaiti women married Australians, ranking ninth
