KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21: The Supreme Committee for Citizenship Investigation has reviewed a new case of dual citizenship involving a Kuwaiti woman found to be holding both a Kuwaiti civil ID and a Gulf identity card issued by her husband’s country.
Informed sources stated that the woman’s Kuwaiti and Gulf identity cards bear the same name and photo. She obtained Gulf citizenship through her marriage to a Gulf citizen and was issued an official identity card in that country. This constitutes a clear case of dual citizenship, which violates Kuwaiti nationality law.
The sources confirmed that after reviewing all documents and verifying the procedures, the Supreme Committee will proceed with revoking her Kuwaiti citizenship in accordance with the applicable legal regulations, noting that acquiring the citizenship of another country is a direct cause for losing Kuwaiti nationality in cases of dual citizenship.
