KUWAIT CITY, March 19: A Kuwaiti woman has been put under quarantine after breaching self-isolation at home as a precautionary measure against coronavirus, said the Ministry of Interior Thursday.

The move came after the woman had posted a video showing non-compliance with relevant guidelines by going to the Blood Bank for donation, the ministry said in a press statement.

Therefore, the ministry urged citizens and residents to follow all decisions and instructions issued by concerned authorities regarding the fight against the contagious disease, warning that violators would inevitably face legal action.

Minister of Health Dr Bassel Al-Sabah has refuted the offensive remarks posted on some social media accounts and news platforms against State officials, including National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim and the parliamentarians who have been supporting ongoing efforts to deal with this crisis, affirming these are nothing but baseless rumors, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Ghanim commented on the minister’s tweet saying, “Dr Bassel … keep up the good work. Rumors that distance us from serving the country will not deter us.” In addition, Minister of Information Mohamed Al-Jabri tweeted that misinformation and abuses against State officials through the social media are far from the truth; especially the abusive comments against Al-GhanIm and parliamentarians. “No one can deny their role. They are good supporters for us. We should not pay attention to rumors,” he asserted.
