KUWAIT CITY, May 16:A Kuwaiti woman was arrested for collecting money from people whom she convinced to invest in setting up projects, which turned out to be dummy. The detectives nabbed her after 30 fraud cases were filed against her, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources, a number of police stations in all governorates received many complaints from victims who were deluded by a Kuwaiti woman into investing in profit generating projects, and then disappeared with their money.

The number of cases recorded against her were 30 cases, which were referred to the General Department for Criminal Investigation. The sources said, “The investigations conducted by the detectives indicated that the accused is a citizen who has been deluding victims into investing in dummy projects. She used to cast her net on those who get involved with her by concluding an official contract in order to erase any suspicion. She then received the agreed amount, which usually ranges between KD 5,000 and KD 10,000 in exchange for receiving profits on a monthly basis.
