BAGHDAD, Dec 10: Kuwait’s Al-Erada Club delegation for wheelchair fencing returned home following a successful showing at the Baghdad International Fencing Tournament. The competition featured over 50 athletes representing 10 different clubs.

The Kuwaiti team captured three medals during the tournament. Fahad Aqeel earned a silver medal in the men’s category after a tough battle against the world’s number two-ranked fencer and also claimed gold in the under-23 youth category. Salem Abdulhadi secured another silver medal, finishing second in his category.

Duai Al-Hajri, Chairman of Al-Erada Club, praised the athletes’ performance under coach Khalid Al-Sarraf, saying: “This is another remarkable achievement for our wheelchair fencing champions, adding to Kuwait’s strong record in regional and international competitions. We look forward to even greater successes in upcoming tournaments.”

Al-Hajri also emphasized the vital support the club receives from the Public Authority for Sports and the Paralympic Committee, which has been instrumental in the team’s continued success.
