KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: There are 100 Kuwaiti teachers working in private schools, and the Ministry of Education pointed out that they follow the ministry in technical matters such as promotions and others while their salaries are paid through the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), reports Al-Rai daily quoting education sources.

The source pointed out these teachers have asked the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, Dr Hamid Al-Azmi, to equate them with their counterparts in government education in regard to the rewards for excellent work and end of service and rare specialization and some other allowances.

According to the source, the minister approved their requests and referred them to the Fatwa and Legislation Department, but the ministry has yet to receive a response from Fatwa and that the entire file will be submitted to the Civil Service Commission since it is the competent authority to decide on allowances.
