DOHA, Nov 17 (KUNA): Kuwait’s Taekwondo team claimed three bronze medals in the U-17 youth category at the 5th Qatar International Taekwondo Championship.

Khalid Hanif and Yousef Al-Shammari earned bronze in the under-59 kg and under-63 kg weight classes, respectively, while Fares Al-Shammari added a bronze in the under-73 kg category, competing against athletes from multiple countries.

Kuwaiti coach Walid Al-Marshad told KUNA that participating in such international events provides invaluable experience for the team. He also expressed his gratitude to the organizers for their excellent hospitality and seamless management of the championship.

The fifth edition of the Qatar International Taekwondo Championship, organized by the Qatar Taekwondo, Judo, and Karate Federation, runs through Monday at Lusail Hall. The tournament features 1,021 athletes from 48 countries, competing across four divisions: cadets, juniors, youth, and seniors.
