Kuwaiti strikes gold at Asian Youth Bowling Championship

The Kuwaiti bowling delegation celebrates a successful campaign at the Asian Youth Bowling Championship in Jakarta.

JAKARTA, Indonesia, Aug 29: Kuwait enjoyed a successful campaign at the Asian Youth Bowling Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia, collecting gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Sharifa Iskandar led Kuwait’s medal haul by winning gold in the Masters event. She also claimed silver in the singles competition after finishing as runner-up.

Kuwait secured a bronze medal in the youth doubles event, with Hussein Qasim and Fahad Al-Saqabi finishing third.

Kuwait and International Bowling Federation President Sheikh Talal Mohammed Al-Sabah praised the team’s achievements, describing them as the result of extensive efforts and sustained work to develop the sport and nurture young talent.

Sheikh Talal Mohammed said the results reflected the progress made through greater attention to youth development and a clear strategy aimed at strengthening Kuwait’s presence at Asian and international competitions.

He praised the players for their determination and commitment, while also congratulating the technical and administrative staff and the athletes’ families for their support throughout the tournament.

Sheikh Talal Mohammed said the championship featured strong competition and expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the team’s success, particularly the Public Authority for Sports for its continued support and efforts to facilitate the development of bowling.

He expressed hope that Kuwait’s young bowlers would continue to deliver more achievements and raise the country’s flag at major sporting events.
