Kuwaiti shooters shine with gold in Sharjah

Women’s shooting team celebrates on the podium at the Arab Games

SHARJAH, Feb 6: Kuwaiti female shooters secured the team gold in the 10-meter pistol competition at the 2024 Arab Club Games for Women held in Sharjah. The winning Kuwaiti shooting team comprised Ghazlan Hassan, Israa Bahman, and Adhari Al-Balushi. Ghazlan Hassan also clinched the individual silver in the 10-meter pistol event, while shooter Maryam Al-Razzuqi earned the individual rifle bronze. The trio of Rataj Al-Zayadi, Shaima Al-Ibrahim, and Maryam Erzouqi contributed to the team’s success, winning the team rifle bronze. Additionally, the Nadi team claimed the rifle bronze for the teams. The combined efforts in shooting earned the team the silver shield for the competition.

On the basketball court, the Kuwait’s Al-Fataah Club’s girls’ basketball team secured their first victory in the Arab Women’s Club Games by defeating the Sharjah Sports Club team with a score of (74-67). This win revived the team’s hopes of qualifying for the final match after experiencing two previous losses.In volleyball, the Salwa Al-Sabah team triumphed over the Sharjah team, securing the top spot in the second group with a three-set victory.

The Al-Fataah club’s table tennis team achieved a significant victory as they were awarded three points in their match against the Iraqi South Gas team, who withdrew. The Kuwaiti table tennis team included Kifaya Al-Mohsen Al-Awairidhi, Maryam Suleiman Abdul-Rahim, and Sheikha Adnan Al-Hamad.
