Kuwaiti shooters Abdullah Al-Tarqi and Iman Al-Shamaa celebrate on the podium.

KUWAIT CITY, June 19 (KUNA): Duaij Al-Otaibi, Chairman of the Kuwait Shooting Sports Club (KSSC), announced on Wednesday that Kuwaiti national team shooters Abdullah Al-Tarqi and Iman Al-Shamaa secured a silver medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup held in Italy.

Al-Otaibi informed the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that Al-Shamaa and Al-Tarqi clinched the silver medal, finishing second behind the United States team comprising Joel Smith and Vincent Hancock, who claimed the gold medal, and ahead of the Swedish team.

He commended the efforts of Kuwaiti shooters Al-Shamaa and Al-Tarqi in the tournament, highlighting that the KSSC is actively preparing Kuwaiti shooters aiming to qualify for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

Al-Otaibi attributed the continued success of Kuwaiti shooters to the strong support from the country's leadership and the backing of the General Sports Authority. He pledged increased efforts to secure more achievements for Kuwaiti sports in future sporting events.
