AL-AIN, Aug 27: Kuwaiti riders from Al-Tomooh Club delivered a stellar performance at the first Regional Equestrian Competition for the Special Olympics in the Middle East and North Africa, held in Al Ain, UAE. The team swept the top three positions in the English Riding event.

Basma Al-Busaily claimed the gold medal with a first-place finish, followed by Maryam Dhiab, who earned silver. Abdullah Al-Ali secured the bronze, completing Kuwait’s impressive podium sweep.

Sadiqa Al-Ansari, Secretary-General of Al-Tomooh Club and head of the Kuwaiti delegation, praised the riders’ achievements, noting that the results “reflect the determination and resilience of athletes with intellectual disabilities and underscore Kuwait’s commitment to supporting them in showcasing their talents at regional and international events.”

Al-Ansari also highlighted that the victory “demonstrates the progress and excellence of Kuwaiti riders in equestrian sports, built on the strong support and care provided by the state,” while commending the UAE Special Olympics for their outstanding organization and the facilities provided to participating delegations.
