Kuwaiti powerboat stars secure podium finishes at World Championship Endurance

MADRID, April 29, (KUNA): In the inaugural round of the 2024 World Championship Endurance hosted by the International Powerboat Federation in Sanxenxo, Spain, the Kuwaiti powerboat team notched two notable achievements, bringing home commendable placements. Head of the Kuwaiti delegation and leader of the speedboat, wakeboard, and free diving committee at the Kuwaiti Marine Sports Club, Ali Al-Shamali, proudly announced the team’s successes.

World champions Bader Al-Dosari and his skilled counterpart, Mohammed Al-Essayie, clinched second place in the demanding “Production Boat Class” category (B), showcasing their prowess in single-engine boats boasting 300 horsepower. Additionally, Khaled Karam, another esteemed world champion, alongside his adept teammate Adel Al-Sharidah, secured third place in the fiercely competitive Promotion Class category (P). Their performance highlighted their expertise in single-engine boats fueled by 150 horsepower.

Al-Shamali expressed his elation at the team’s achievements, emphasizing the intense competition, the impressive turnout of participants, and the considerable public interest witnessed throughout the tournament. The Kuwaiti contingent faced off against teams from various nations, including Belgium, the United Kingdom, Malta, Italy, and the host country, Spain, underscoring the global nature of the event.

With the first leg of the 2024 championship concluded, attention now turns to the forthcoming rounds. The anticipation builds for the next installment set to unfold in Belgium come June, promising further exhilarating competition and the opportunity for the Kuwaiti team to showcase their skills on the international stage once more.
