KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health announced Wednesday the launch of a new service that enables patients to instantly access decisions regarding overseas treatment through the unified government application for electronic services, Sahel.
The initiative, aimed at enhancing transparency, streamlining healthcare procedures, and supporting the country’s digital transformation, was launched under the directives of Health Minister Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi.
In a press statement, Dr. Hisham Kalender, Assistant Undersecretary for External Health Services, said the service allows patients to view the results of their overseas treatment requests immediately upon issuance by the Higher Committee, removing the need to visit the Overseas Treatment Department in person.
Dr. Kalender added that the service helps save time and effort, ensures data confidentiality, reduces administrative burdens, and strengthens digital healthcare services. He emphasized that the Ministry remains committed to a value-based care model to guarantee optimal healthcare outcomes.
