KUWAIT CITY, Jun 8: The Criminal Court sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to three years' imprisonment with hard labor and imposed a fine of KD 3,000 for impersonating a physician, deceiving patients at a public hospital, and defrauding a woman under the pretext of arranging cosmetic surgery. The defendant entered the hospital wearing a doctor’s uniform, leading patients and staff to believe he was a licensed physician. He then convinced a woman that he could facilitate cosmetic surgery in exchange for payment. Investigations revealed that the defendant received KD 950 from the victim after promising to arrange the required medical procedures. Hospital surveillance cameras recorded his movements inside the medical facility while wearing a doctor’s uniform, which helped uncover the crime and identify him.
