Kuwaiti jiu-jitsu team wins five Asian gold medals

ABU DHABI, Sept. 21: The Gracie Barra Al-Ahmadi team added another achievement to Kuwait’s sporting record by winning five gold medals at the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The championship, which recently concluded, brought together more than 2,000 male and female athletes from various countries around the world.

Kuwaiti fighters Mishari Al-Obaid, Nawaf Al-Bahdali, Abdullah Al-Asfour, Obaid Al-Rafidi, and Abdullah Al-Rafidi each claimed first place and gold in their respective age categories after strong competition from athletes representing several countries.

The team’s success came under the supervision of national coaches Abdullah Salim and Nasser Abdulkarim, who worked extensively to prepare the athletes physically, technically, and mentally for the continental event.

Their efforts were reflected in the athletes’ strong technical performances and fighting spirit throughout the championship.
