Kuwaiti Jet-skier held for hitting, killing Indian – Jordanian sued for faking story

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 9: In less than 24 hours, the Hawalli police were able to arrest a young Kuwaiti who had escaped from the scene after hitting and killing on the spot an Indian man, reports Al-Shahed daily. The youth was riding a jet ski on a beach in Salmiya and he reportedly hit the Indian when he was swimming.

The Kuwaiti, who has admitted to the charge, says it was not a deliberate act. He has been handed over to the Public Prosecution. Meanwhile, police have arrested a Jordanian for fabricating a story and claiming a thief broke into his car and stole KD 12,600, reports Al-Rai daily.

Investigations conducted by securitymen revealed the Jordanian had to pay a similar amount to a Canadian who entrusted him with the money, and in an attempt to escape from his responsibility, he fabricated the story. Investigations also revealed the Jordanian spent money to pay his debts, purchase goods and drugs.

Two cases have been filed against the man — betrayal of trust and making a hoax call to police. In another development, police are looking for an overweight person for damaging the contents of a sports shop, reports Al-Shahed daily.

A security source the suspect entered the shop but could not find the garments of his size and reportedly lost temper and went on a rampage when the salesman apparently told him that he is unable to find what is suitable for him. The suspect then escaped from the shop got behind the wheel and escaped. The salesman has given police the description of the man and his car plate number.
