KUWAIT CITY, April 26: The Court of Appeals upheld the 14-year prison sentence imposed on a Kuwaiti citizen found guilty of killing an Asian domestic worker, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Case files indicate that the defendant assaulted and beat the victim to death, then buried her remains in his garden in Saad Al-Abdullah to hide the crime. The court also upheld the one-year imprisonment imposed on the wife, brother and father of the citizen. They were convicted of aiding the defendant by tampering with evidence and helping him dispose of the body. Initially reported as a disappearance, the worker’s case led to an investigation that revealed suspicious details and resulted in the arrest of the citizen. Following his confession, he and his family members were tried and convicted, leading to the prison sentences upheld by the appellate court.
