KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: Kuwaiti handball officials have secured key positions on the Arab Handball Federation’s working committees for the upcoming term, highlighting the growing recognition of national expertise at the Arab level.
Dr Khaled Al-Sharji has been appointed chairman of the Planning and Development Committee, while international referee Ahmed Al-Mutawa has been named a member of the Referees Committee.
The appointments reflect the confidence placed in Kuwaiti expertise, with Al-Sharji and Al-Mutawa bringing extensive technical, administrative, and refereeing experience, as well as a long record of participation in Arab, continental, and international competitions.
Their presence on the committees is also expected to contribute to the development of the sport, particularly in shaping plans and programmes aimed at raising the standard of Arab handball in the coming years.
Al-Sharji will head a Planning and Development Committee comprising Mohammed bin Amara, Tijani Moulani, Mohammed Al-Abbas, Ghassan Al-Hanesh, Ahmed Radi, Younes Al-Azzan, Iyad Abdullah, Khaled Al-Hail, Mohammed Jamal and Abdullah Al-Roukshi.
The Referees Committee, chaired by Matar Thani Al-Zara, includes Al-Mutawa, Ghanem Al-Deesh, Suhail Jassim, Fayez Al-Hinai, Mustafa Al-Maamali, and Abdul Latif Al-Qazi.
Earlier, Salman Al-Habib was appointed secretary-general of the Arab Handball Federation.
