KUWAIT CITY, July 4: The State Security Circuit of the Court of Appeals sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to ten years' imprisonment for joining Hezbollah and meeting with members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, reports Al- Seyassah daily. The defendant had previously received a pardon for a ten-year sentence in the Abdali Cell case. In another case, the court upheld the acquittal of a citizen who is accused of posting videos on social media in support of Hezbollah and the Houthi movement. The court also upheld a five-year prison sentence for a Bedoun resident accused of violating the Amir’s rights on the X platform and ordered his X account suspended for one year. The State Security Court of Appeals also upheld the decision not to punish citizens accused of expressing sympathy and inciting sedition on social media during the Iranian attacks.
