WUXI, China, Oct 8: The Kuwait Winter Games Club has announced that its player, Sama Jaragh, who is also a member of the Kuwait figure skating team, will participate in the Grand Prix Championship in the seventh round of the competition. This prestigious event, which begins tomorrow in Wuxi, China, will last for three days.
Salem Al-Ajmi, the director of the Kuwait figure skating team and head of the delegation, emphasized the importance of including Jaragh in this international event, which is organized by the International Skating Union (ISU) and attracts top players from around the world.
Al-Ajmi noted that this marks Jaragh's second appearance in the Grand Prix, following her participation in the Bangkok round last month, where she delivered a commendable performance. He highlighted how these experiences provide invaluable opportunities for the young skater to compete against elite athletes, helping her gain experience and develop her promising future in the sport.
Jaragh has been training under the guidance of Russian coach Yulia Martysheva in preparation for the event. Al-Ajmi praised her dedication and hard work, expressing confidence in her ability to perform well in her international competitions. He further emphasized that exposing Kuwaiti athletes to such high-level tournaments aims to enhance their technical skills and accumulate crucial points needed for qualification to the upcoming Winter Olympics in Milan (Cortina 2026). Al-Ajmi also expressed his gratitude for the club's board of directors, whose support has significantly contributed to the sport's development both locally and internationally.
