Kuwaiti Fencers Claim Silver and Bronze at World Combat Games

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 27: Kuwait’s fencing team has made a mark in the World Combat Games held in Riyadh 2023, securing notable achievements with a silver medal in the fluorescent weapon competition and a bronze medal in the sabre team competition.

In the fluorescent events, Ali Al-Nassar, Ali Fadhel, Faisal Al-Zamel, and Yaquoub Al-Shatti exhibited their prowess, earning a silver medal. Meanwhile, in the sabre team tournament, Ali Rostum, Hamad Al-Shamlan, and Hussein Al-Omairi showcased their skills, clinching a well-deserved bronze medal.

Ali Rostum further demonstrated his individual proficiency by winning a silver bronze in the sabre individual weapon competition, and Ali Al-Nassar secured a bronze medal in the fluorescent individual competition.

Hamad Al-Awadhi, the Secretary-General of the Kuwaiti Fencing Association, expressed his delight at the outstanding achievements of Kuwaiti fencers during the Riyadh 2023 championship. He emphasized that these athletes have shown their responsibility and capability to represent Kuwait with distinction.
