KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: In a recent verdict, the Misdemeanor Court has acquitted a citizen who was accused of impersonating a security officer while apprehending a girl with the aid of a device installed in his vehicle, reports Al-Anba Daily. The incident occurred when a patrol noticed the accused’s vehicle and the girl’s vehicle stopped on the side of the road. Upon inquiry, the girl claimed that the accused used a flashing device to stop her and requested documentation for her vehicle.

However, during the investigation, the accused refuted the allegations, asserting that he never portrayed himself as a security officer. He clarified that the seized device was not a “flasher” but a battery that emitted red and blue lights similar to those on police vehicles. He stopped the girl’s vehicle to prevent any potential damage to his own due to a nearby traffic accident.

Lawyer Fatima Safar, representing the accused, emphasized his consistent denial of the accusations throughout the investigation. She pointed out the lack of evidence supporting the claim and highlighted that neither the victim, security personnel, nor investigating officers mentioned any assertion of being a security officer by the accused The court’s decision reflects a careful consideration of the evidence presented, ultimately resulting in the acquittal of the citizen from the charges brought against him.
