The meeting came as part of Ambassador Hayat’s official two-day visit to Bangladesh, during which he led the Kuwaiti delegation in the first round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries.

In the high-level discussions, Ambassador Hayat and General Waker-Uz-Zaman reviewed ongoing military and security cooperation and explored avenues for enhanced coordination and development in the defense sector. They also exchanged views on regional matters and other issues of mutual interest.

General Waker-Uz-Zaman praised the depth of military and security ties between Bangladesh and Kuwait, voicing his hope for expanding cooperation to even higher levels across all relevant fields.

The meeting was attended by Kuwait’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ali Thunayan Al-Hamadah, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Major General Syed Tareq Hussain, and several senior officers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces.

On Sunday, ahead of the consultations, Ambassador Hayat also met with Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Government of Bangladesh, Mohammad Hussain, to deliver a handwritten letter from Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya. The letter addressed ways to strengthen and diversify bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and strategic areas.

The first round of political consultations between Kuwait and Bangladesh concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further developing their bilateral relations and continuing dialogue on shared interests.
